3. Tell your username to the event coordinator at official SOS events to receive points.
4. Login to the site to see how many points you have and to connect with your new friends from the event.
5. Easily exchange your points for dollars for a variety of organizations and charities.

The Societies of Spontaneity is a volunteer-run, charitable, free-to-join community arts & event group. Our primary goal is to improve the community through truly unique, lighthearted methods; mainly by bringing innocent fun and joy to people when they least expect it. Events range from performance-art masquerading as reality to community-made paintings to stranger-joining games of tag.
NYC-based guerrilla-performance group, Improv Everywhere was our primary inspiration, and as we've grown we've taken in the philosophies from a number of other underground urban movements that share three common goals:
- Meet new people
- Have fun (and possibly be a bit silly)
- Make the community a more interesting place to live.
In an age where security rhetoric and fear mongerers attempt to distance us from one another and our publicly owned spaces, it is more important than ever to use these spaces for activities that can be equally enjoyed by people of any age, race, religion, sexuality, or political affiliation. When many different kinds of people come together to experience the same kind of silly, innocent joy we see that we don't have to be as afraid of each other as we might have thought. It's a very simple equation: Inclusiveness is the make-up, silliness is the method, and joy is the result.
Our memberbase is filled with talented individuals from many different backgrounds. Both friend and business connections develop across the network on a regular basis.
